The artist who aims at perfection in everything achieves it in nothing.
Eugene Delacroix
What a delightful quote I found this morning. It is just the thing I needed for today. If you are not already familiar with the Fly lady I encourage you to visit her site. It has truly changed my life. So as I make a list of things to do today I am throwing out perfectionism and bringing in progress. I love it. The last few weeks I have gotten so much done and I am so happy to be freeing myself of clutter and junk that is no longer needed. Lately I have spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and baking and cleaning. In order to keep my sanity I have to make myself take 15 minute breaks from the kitchen. lol. I love to cook and I love learning to do so as well. This holiday season i am planning on helping my grandmother and my mother cook for Christmas dinner and I am hoping to make several small gift baskets of treats for friends. I haven't reached my goal of caroling at nursing homes but i have started and will continue to pursues it this next week. So anyway I am just thanking the Lord for a new day in which to serve Him and to be a blessing to my family and friends who I love so dearly.

Christmas Time
I love Christmas time. I love the lights and decorations. The music and bustle of the season make me come alive. The gatherings and plays are inspiring and fun. I just love it all, especially the snowy, wintry feeling in the air. I love snowmen and yes even some Santa Claus scenes (though I don’t believe in him or in encouraging the belief of him). The reindeer and beautiful trees it’s all so beautiful. Of course all of this is superfluous to the true reason I celebrate Christmas. The reason I celebrate Christmas is because I am so thankful for God’s great love that He would put on humanity and come as a lowly baby to this world just so that He could sacrifice himself n my place so that I could one ay live forever in Heaven with Him. What an awesome reason to celebrate at any time of year. The awesome thing about setting aside a certain day to celebrate His birth is that it helps us to refocus on what is truly important. Another reason I love this holiday is that it is one of the few times in the year where you can talk and sing about Jesus without much reprimand. It is an awesome time to share with others the reason why we are here and to give, give, give. This year I wish to find even more ways to give then in years past. One way we can all participate is by giving to the Salvation Army. My good friend Bro. Thiel has started his annual kettle drive and instead of starting my own, as I don’t have a large readership, I will simply ask you all to help fill his kettle this year. Another way I wish to give this year is to donate time as I have little money. I wish to visit the many nursing homes in this city and carol. Also I will probably volunteer at a care and share. I’m not sure what else I will find to do except for caroling around my own community and participating in our Christmas play at the church. I am an Angel this year. I just found the perfect white outfit to wear. I am so excited about Christmas this year I hope you all are as well.
